Front-End Engineer for a while. Previously funk bass player, comic book artist wannabe and Electronics and Maths teacher

What I do

I’m Diego Lago, a web technologist with a deep expertise in front-end engineering. I’m interested in user experience (UX) and design strategy, accessibility & web development.

My work is at the point where art, design, interaction, programming and behavioural and performance analysis intersect.

I’m also well versed in back-end technologies that help me build flexible and scalable web applications that are content managed and user friendly.

Currently

I live and work in cosmopolitan London, UK and I’m a lead creative technologist and UX designer at Ixonos, a creative mobile solutions company developing wireless technologies, software and solutions for connected devices and mobile services.

Background

The conflict between my techie educational background and my passion for the graphic arts came to an end the day I discovered the web. Both sides helped me realised user interface design is as much about programming as the design itself. As I see it, Web UI design is not about building static page interfaces; it’s about interactive application design. It should be done by people who know the latest web UI technology, and how to use it – coding in JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
